Best of 2010 (the fifth in a series)
…I used to play tons of videogames as a kid. And buy a ton of magazines about the damn things, too. And while I do play a lot less now (what with having a job and a life and what have you) I still tend to find the idea of wasting a quiet evening on videogaming quite attractive, especially when it’s all cold and quiet out.  This year’s been a year of sequels improving on the...

Best of 2010 (the fourth in a series)
…Resolutions for 2011? Not telling, I’m afraid. Well, I want to continue producing more. No more passive consumption for this, well, usually passive consumer. Let’s say I want to have my finest hour… After a somewhat lacklustre 5th volume (where I ended up considering all this Scott Pilgrim lark was somewhat overrated) the series gets back to fighting form for its...

Best of 2010 (the third of a series)
…Then again, some positives. I’ve done more writing than any previous year - some of which I think is even any good. Even got around to actually doing an actual comic, something I hadn’t attempted in years and years. Is CLAY any good? Some folks tell me they liked it, even if it left them confused.  Onto matters of a far superior nature. Yes, I’ve written on both Batman...

Best of 2010 (the second of a series)
…If anyone were to ask me (for whatever fucked up reason) what the best things that happened to me in 2010 were, I’d just answer in a haze of pop culture, since that’s all I can think about. Other than the job change. The new job’s cool. The turning of a once loved one (with whom a roof, a bed and a budget were shared) into a complete stranger was not. As for the...

Best of 2010 (the first of a series)
2010’s been an interesting year . And that’s “interesting” as in the Chinese curse sense. September 2010 especially brought about alot of changes of a not particularly positive streak - “April is the cruellest month” my ass, T. S. Eliot.  Amidst retrospective nonsense, things worthy of note from the millennium’s first decade’s last year… ...

Batman: Birth, Death, Rebirth... ?
This is part of Schlock Magazine’s Batman Blogathon, a weekend dedicated to posts on the greatest fictional character ever. Or is he? For sure he’s the greatest subject to discuss over burgers and beer. What do you mean, he’s not? Shut up. Or rather, don’t. Express your opinions via the comments. Do check Teodor’s fanboy perspectives and Pete’s musings on...

Played and Thought: Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer
Video games? What the hell, bro? No worries, I won’t be writing about games much. Don’t play much of them these days - hell, the “newest” game I’ve been playing is Arkham Asylum for gods’ sake. But I’ll tackle interesting offerings every now and then. Inevitably, they’ll mostly be indie creations of zero budgets and maximum ideas.  Sometime back...

Schlock: The Western Issue!
Image: Nel Pace Western Schlock is finally done! It’s full of gringos and sons of bitches taken names and whores in distresses. All of which, of course, deeply excellent. I’ve a couple of entries there— an illustration (it’s actually an old piece but fit the theme nicely) and, of course, the comic CLAY.  Go check it out!
